Some legislators will grandstand and talk a big game, yet don’t put in the work to really research the issues, draft meaningful and well thought-out legislation, and be respected enough by their peers to get bills to the governor’s desk.

In my first term, I led ten pieces of legislation that reached the governor and were signed into law. From championing workforce freedom legislation, regulatory reform, and improving tribal relations, to protecting our way of life, looking out for vulnerable South Dakotans, and recognizing our veterans – I found a way to get results.
During my time in Pierre we also passed the largest tax cut in state history, increased support to education and community providers, and worked hard to keep the government limited in it’s overreach and the decision-making at the local level.

PEOPLE FIRST
The most effective government is a government closest to the people. South Dakota leads by example in giving power to the people through limited government, individual liberty, and personal responsibility. I will work hard to be your voice and advocate in the State House, and I always welcome your ideas and feedback as your District 14 representative.
STRONG COMMUNITIES & HEALTHY FAMILIES
Communities need strong and healthy families to thrive and prosper. As a father, I want our state to provide our next generation the hope of a better, safer future through quality education, public safety, access to healthcare, and community resources. Government can play a limited and appropriate role in this, yet should always respect and appreciate the community, non-profit, and faith-based organizations already doing great work in our state.
VIBRANT ECONOMY
South Dakota is consistently ranked as one of the best places in the country to do business. Supporting businesses and the employees that make it all happen will keep our economy vibrant. We can help people start, grow, and retain businesses by keeping taxes low, regulations reasonable, and by providing opportunities to retain our best and brightest people in South Dakota.
